We are now that bit closer to the Holocaust Educational Trust's first ever Ambassador Conference, being held in London on Monday 8th July. As more details are being released by the Trust, the following updates to my last blog post can be confirmed:
- Due to popular demand and general interest, the Conference is now open to all Sixth-Form students, as well as Student Ambassadors that have completed the Trust's 'Lessons from Auschwitz' Project. Tickets, however, must be booked by Wednesday 26th June, only costing £15 each.
- More speakers have been announced: the BBC's Political Editor Nick Robinson and Professor David Cesarani OBE, leading British historian on the Holocaust and Jewish studies, will also be giving presentations at the Conference. They are confirmed alongside Yehuda Bauer, historian of the Holocaust; Shami Chakrabarti, director of human rights organisation Liberty; and Richard Overy, Professor of History at the University of Exeter.
- If you are worried about travel expenses, a small number of subsidies are presently available from the Trust. For more information, email conference@het.org.uk or call 0207 222 6822.
I look forward to seeing you there!
